A strong DCAP cannot succeed if the people responsible for supporting it do not understand its purpose or their role in the work. Communication is essential to moving the DCAP from a counselor-led requirement to a shared district commitment.

An effective communications plan explains why career and academic planning matters, what students should experience, how different staff members contribute, and how the work supports district priorities. It also ensures that students, families, board members, and community partners receive relevant information at the right time.

In this course, you will build a practical communications plan that identifies audiences, messages, messengers, methods, and opportunities for ongoing engagement.
